Weight loss with motivation and activities

Monday, October 18th, 2010

Losing weight is a permanent matter for many people all over the world. With models and actors on TV or in magazines, we all seem to be forced to lose weight or to train more and harder. Everyone heard of crash diets, counting points, boot camps or diet tablets. In the end, all these programmes may lead to a weight loss, but it is only for a short time and not consistent. If you really want to lose weight, shape your body and find an inner balance of well-being you have to rethink your eating habits, your daily activities and the amount of calories which suit your gender, age and height.

First of all motivation is the magic key to get a diet started. Without motivation a diet can never be succesful. People who want to lose weight need to be convinced and focused on their goal. It is up to them – they are the only ones to change their lives. It has to be a clear decision to be more strict to themselves, to be willing to say no to sweets or snacks and yes to sports and activities. No one else will go through the tough process of losing weight for them.

It is easier to lose weight in a group. Why not founding a weight loss-group? Setting a goal for the group and losing weight with others while having fun doing sports is an interesting project. In the beginning it might be more sharing the pain when doing sports than having fun walking through the park, woods or the neighborhood. But slowly, if keeping a regular sports schedule, the fitness level starts to improve, more walking miles will be possible in a shorter time, longer distances in the pool will be achieved or longer cycle rides can be done. The fresh air and getting used to different weather conditions are nice side effects for a better health and a nice mental balance. Losing weight is a process which includes not only a diet or sports, it is a mental journey to discover a new way of living.
